Rocío DE LA VILLA Full Professor of Aesthetics and Theory of Art at the Autonomous University of Madrid, was permanent teacher at the Institute of Aesthetics of the Theory of the Arts, and currently participates in several MA courses in Contemporary Art. As an art critic she is a regular collaborator to the supplements Cultura/s for the newspaper La Vanguardia and El Cultural for the newspaper El Mundo as well as other specialised magazines, such as ExitExpress and ExitBook. She has curated several exhibitions of contemporary art, and of note among her publications is the Guía del arte hoy / Paul VIRILIO Arquitect, urbanist and philosopher. Professor of École Spéciale d'Architecture de Paris, where he was director from1968 to1998. In 1963 founded, with Claude Parent, the magazine Architecture Principe. He has published, among others, the following books: Bunker archéologie; L'insécurité du territoire; Vitesse et politique; Esthétique de la disparition; Guerre et cinéma; L'espace critique; La machine de vision; L'art du moteur; Cybermonde, la politique du pire; La bombe informatique ou Ce qui arrive. In 1987 he was awarded with the Grand Prix National de la Critique, France / Isobel WHITELEGG completed her PhD thesis on the work of Mira Shendel (University of Essex, 2005). As AHRC Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Art History & Theory, University of Essex (UK), she is presently conducting research on the presence and critical reception of artist from Latin America in the UK during the 1960s and 1970s /
