Sympathy as a way of thinking

"Aesthetic concepts began to interest me only when I perceived their existential roots, when I understood them as existential concepts," admitted Milar Kundera in a recent book. This does not necessarily mean that the esthetic concept, and therefore art, is to be confused with life, but yes, that it is a way of thinking it, as much as with art. It is the way art interests me, many times: a way of thinking, of a thought with an artistic history. A perspective that is even more valid when speaking of Tunga, who not only approved Kundera's proposal but also said that sympathy (in his language, another way of saying art) is a way of thinking. Better than sympathy and more than that would be to say sympathetic: the feeling provoked by something and the physical impression of this 'something' on the body: disease – like the magnetic field in Palindrome Incest.

I also used to be more interested in works that presented problems or created problems, as in Tunga, than in those that offer or think that they offer solutions.
