Camila Belchior /// Space:The Penetrable Body. Interview with Laura Vinci Laura Vinci (1962) is a tamer. A tamer of spaces, of states, of matter, form and colour. Her questioning the occupation of space becomes a series of works that exhale a metamorphic poetic quality that at the same time remits the functioning of machinery and industrial pieces she uses, and the constant transformation and reinvention that is inextricably tied to life. The subtleties and nuances of Laura Vinci’s environment – based works, stimulate her more sensitive spectators to look, feel, think and question the world in the light of cycles; their rhythms and distinct states. In the interview given to Dardo Magazine, the São Paulo-born Brazilian artist reveals her works, produced during a career that spans 20 years. What is the importance of architecture to your work? I think most of my works need architecture – actually they use architecture and depend on architectural structure to happen. |
